Job Details

Delta Air Lines, Inc. has multiple openings for Senior Systems Engineers in Atlanta, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, create and maintain various messaging platforms including Tibco EMS, AJAX, RV, IBM MQ, and Confluent Kafka.
  • Strengthen system security and reliability to enable a reliable customer focused operation in the following areas: Automate and Standardize Operations, Reliability - Prevent Incidents, Reliability - MFT specific goals to reduce infrastructure risks; Security - Identity and Access Management: Security - Data Governance and Loss prevention; and Security - Vulnerability Management.
  • Collaborate with business partners and development portfolios to deliver innovative technology and speed to value by scaling-up innovation.
  • Reduce customer seams (engagement model, delivery model, and support model), reduce time to market, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Establish a feedback process to customers for improvement opportunities.
  • Provide support to design and build new greenfield projects needed by the portfolios/business.
  • Ensure the customer engagement process is defined and efficient.
  • Analyze customer needs to improve the customer engagement process.
  • Collaborate and communicate across teams to improve IT domains.
  • Learn the business - end to end, including systems thinking and understanding its interdependencies.
  • Telecommuting permitted 2-3 days per week.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of experience in software development or software engineering. In the alternative, will accept a Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in software development or software engineering.

Must have:

  • Experience with Managed File Transfer Platforms: SEEBURGER, MessageWay, or IBM Sterling
  • Knowledge of Linux Administration including executing scripts and using CHRON Tab
  • Knowledge of SFTP/FTPS Communications protocol
  • Knowledge of AS2 Communications protocol
  • Knowledge of BASH, Perl, or Python scripting
