Job Title: Mainframe Systems Programmer

We are looking for Mainframe Systems Programmer, who will be responsible for managing and supporting mainframe environments including z/OS infrastructure, application hosting, system utilities, and DB2 database operations. The role involves performing upgrades, troubleshooting, patching, supporting development/testing environments, and coordinating with hosting teams to ensure high availability and stability of mainframe-based applications.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Coordinate with the mainframe hosting team to manage system environments.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as patching, upgrades, and handling out-of-support software.
- Support COBOL-based applications using DB2, CICS, and JCL.
- Isolate and resolve bugs in mainframe applications and infrastructure.
- Perform backup of UAT and build environments.
- Create and modify DB2 tables (e.g., adding columns, defining new tables).
- Utilize common IBM mainframe utilities for system support.
- Perform systems programming tasks on z/OS, including performance tuning, automation, and problem resolution.
Experience Required: 14+ years in Application Development.
Key Skills and Knowledge:
- COBOL programming experience
- Strong hands-on with JCL, CICS, and DB2
- Experience with z/OS systems programming
- Familiarity with mainframe utilities (e.g., IDCAMS, IEBGENER, SORT)
- Experience in patching/upgrading mainframe software components
- Experience with problem determination and resolution in mainframe environments
