Job Details

Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Project IT Manager II with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension.

Pay: $55.00 - $61.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.

Description:
We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Project Managers II to lead cross-functional initiatives within the IT and Supply Chain domains, with a strong focus on inventory management, business process optimization, and data-driven technology solutions, including data fabric and AI components. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Agile project delivery, exceptional leadership and communication skills, and a proven ability to drive complex projects to successful completion on time, within scope, and on budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead and manage multiple projects across Supply Chain, Generation, Transmission, Distribution and IT, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Apply Agile methodologies to plan, execute, and monitor progress, fostering adaptability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee change control processes and manage impacts to scope, schedule, and cost across multiple projects

Stakeholder Engagement & Coaching
  • Act as a strategic liaison between business units and IT/data teams, ensuring business priorities guide delivery.
  • Coach business unit leads to support delivery teams effectively and ensure timely execution.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to define project requirements, objectives, and deliverables.

Planning & Financial Oversight
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, roadmaps, schedules, and milestone tracking.
  • Track and forecast project financials, ensuring accurate budget reporting and alignment with governance requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, Generation, Transmission and IT business units to define project requirements, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate cross-functional dependencies and remove impediments to ensure smooth execution.

Risk & Issue Management
  • Identify, log, and mitigate project risks, issues, and decisions; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and internal PMO standards, as well as company policies and industry best practices.

Communication & Reporting
  • Communicate project status, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders, including senior management and sponsors.
  • Prepare and deliver progress reports, dashboards, and executive updates.

Team Leadership & Culture
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that promotes knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Maintain and prioritize delivery backlogs for IT, data, and engineering teams.
  • Creative problem solving to move the work forward within the constraints present

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Supply Chain, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of project management experience in IT and/or Supply Chain environments.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) certification is highly desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience with financial systems, ERP implementations, and IT infrastructure projects is a plus.
