Role: Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer
Location: Richmond, VA (hybrid 2-3x/week onsite)
Duration: Long-term Contract

Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer to support a strategic cloud migration and data modernization initiative. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) services, as well as exposure to Azure and Snowflake, as the organization transitions from a hybrid cloud environment to a Google Cloud Platform-first architecture.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.
Work with tools such as Dataproc, BigQuery, and Dataflow.
Integrate data from Snowflake and Azure environments.
Develop and manage APIs (e.g., FastAPI, Apigee) for data access and services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data engineering needs.
Ensure data quality, security, and performance across platforms.
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow).
Proficiency in Python and SQL.
Experience with Snowflake and Azure data services.
Familiarity with API development and integration.
Strong understanding of data architecture and cloud migration strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in healthcare or enterprise data environments.
Exposure to hybrid cloud environments and data governance best practices.

Requirements:
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform tools (BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow).
Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
Experience with Snowflake and Azure.
API development experience (e.g., FastAPI, Apigee).
Cloud migration experience, especially from Azure to Google Cloud Platform.
Strong understanding of data engineering best practices.
Ability to work in a mixed cloud environment.

Additional Skills:
Experience in healthcare or life sciences environments. Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks. Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI). Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in cloud environments. Knowledge of data cataloging and metadata management tools. Familiarity with hybrid cloud strategies and multi-cloud architecture. Prior involvement in enterprise-scale cloud transformation projects.
