Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer with deep expertise in identity platforms, authentication technologies, and M&A integration. This contract role is critical in enabling secure access, simplifying identity operations, and consolidating identity systems during ongoing mergers and acquisitions.

You will partner with IAM leadership, Security, IT Ops, HR, and Application teams to design and deliver robust solutions while maintaining seamless user experience and enterprise security.
Key Responsibilities
M&A Integration Execution
  • Partner with IAM Lead and cross-functional teams to plan and deliver IAM integration strategies during mergers.
  • Conduct IAM landscape assessments of acquired companies to identify risks, gaps, and integration pathways.
Identity Systems Consolidation
  • Merge and rationalize disparate identity providers, directories (Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP), and access systems.
  • Ensure seamless coexistence and migration during transition phases.
User Lifecycle Management
  • Automate provisioning, deprovisioning, access reviews, and identity workflows.
  • Support smooth onboarding/offboarding for employees, contractors, and partners during M&A activity.
Solution Design & Engineering
  • Design and implement IAM solutions including:
    • SSO (SAML, OAuth, OIDC)
    • MFA
    • Privileged Access Management (PAM)
    • RBAC frameworks
    • Zero Trust alignment
  • Integrate enterprise applications (SaaS, on-prem, custom apps) with IAM infrastructure.
Security, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure systems comply with regulatory standards (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
  • Maintain audit-ready logs and enforce strong access controls.
Technical Troubleshooting & Support
  • Resolve IAM-related issues including authentication, provisioning, integration failures, directory sync, and MFA problems.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with Security, IT, HR, and DevOps teams.
  • Translate complex IAM concepts into simple language for stakeholders.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop detailed technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational SOPs.
  • Stay updated with IAM trends, Zero Trust models, and AI/ML-driven identity security enhancements.

Required Skills & Experience
Education
  • Bachelor s Degree in CS, IT, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on IAM engineering experience.
  • Direct, recent experience supporting IAM in Mergers & Acquisitions.
Technical Expertise
  • Directory Services: AD, Azure AD, LDAP
  • Authentication Standards: SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, MFA
  • IAM Platforms:
    Okta, Azure AD, CyberArk, Ping Identity, SailPoint, ForgeRock
  • Scripting for automation:
    PowerShell, Python
  • Security models: RBAC, Zero Trust
  • DevOps familiarity
  • Understanding of AI/ML applications in IAM (risk scoring, behavioral access)
