Qualifications:

Required:
  • 10+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience, with 5+ years focused on VMware architecture and design
  • Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, NSX-T, vSAN, Aria Operations/Automation/Network, and HCX
  • Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere+, and associated licensing and entitlement models
  • Strong client-facing consulting and communication skills; ability to bridge technical and executive discussions
  • Familiarity with financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations, identify problems, and develop effective solutions.

Preferred:
  • Experience with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG), Aria Automation, or container platform integrations
  • Familiarity with alternatives like Red Hat OpenShift, AHV, or KVM and migration tooling
  • Background in building or delivering managed services around VMware platforms
  • Working knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, or public cloud IaaS/PaaS platforms
  • Experience creating collateral, building service offerings, or contributing to sales pursuits
  • In-depth knowledge of RedHat OpenShift, OpenStack, Kubernetes, VMware Cloud Foundations, and Hybrid Cloud Automation. Experience with cloud infrastructure, automation frameworks, and hybrid environments is essential.
  • Mastery of cloud platforms, infrastructure, and automation tools. Solid understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of Hybrid Cloud industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape in the technology consulting space.
  • Knowledge of various technology stacks, platforms, and integration methodologies.
    Proficient in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies.

  • VMware Certified Technical Associate - Data Center Virtualization (VCTA-DCV)
  • VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Data Center Virtualization Design (VCAP-DCV Design)
  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Network Virtualization Design (VCAP-NV Design)
  • VMware Certified Professional - Cloud Management and Automation (VCP-CMA)
  • VMware Cloud Foundation Specialist (New focus area)
  • VMware Certified Master Specialist - vSAN or NSX-T (Based on core focus)

Position Overview:
World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Solution Architect - VMware to join our Cloud team within the Solutions Organization. This role focuses on helping clients modernize, consolidate, or migrate their VMware-based environments in response to the evolving virtualization and licensing landscape.

As a client-facing, technical leader, you will shape and deliver VMware-centric transformation strategies, lead solution development, support pre-sales efforts, and collaborate cross-functionally with WWT's sales, delivery, and partner teams. You will also help customers evaluate strategic alternatives including hybrid cloud architectures, platform modernization, and VMware Cloud solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

Client-Facing Solution Development
  • Lead VMware solution design for enterprise and public sector clients, including modernization, consolidation, or migration
  • Drive technical workshops, executive briefings, and roadmap sessions on VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere+, NSX, vSAN, and Aria Suite

Solution Development & GTM Enablement
  • Build reference architectures, cost models, and service offerings around VMware and alternative virtualization platforms
  • Contribute to WWT's VMware Partner Services Program (PSP) strategy, including joint service delivery with VMware/Broadcom
  • Develop IP and reusable accelerators such as RACI templates, migration frameworks, and automation runbooks

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Sales and Account Teams to shape opportunities and support solutioning during RFP/RFI processes
  • Collaborate with WWT's Advanced Technology Center (ATC) for lab validations, demos, and proofs-of-concept
  • Engage WWT practices in Cloud, Security, Application Modernization, and FinOps for integrated solutions

Thought Leadership & Internal Enablement
  • Stay updated with VMware's evolving portfolio, licensing models, and roadmap under Broadcom
  • Mentor junior architects and contribute to VMware technical enablement across the Solutions and Services organizations
  • Support content creation for blogs, client webinars, and internal training assets
