Job Title: Technical Project Manager (Power & Utilities, Energy Systems)
Client: State of Texas
Location: Remote in Texas (On-site meetings occasionally in Austin)
Duration: June 2025 September 30, 2025 (Possible Extension into FY26)
Work Hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM CST (Monday Friday)
Experience Required: 12 15+ Years

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager in Energy & Utilities domain

  • 4 7 years in project management and minimum 4 years in IT system integration

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Automate and Microsoft Visio

    • Workflow automation

    • Process modeling and documentation

  • Experience developing project tracking systems for state compliance/commissioning

  • Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative and problem-solving skills

  • Previous involvement with QA efforts and vendor coordination

  • Understanding of ERCOT protocols and distributed generation (DG) resource interconnection

Bonus Skills (Highly Preferred):

  • Experience with:

    • GMS (Generation Management Systems)

    • ICCP (Inter Control Center Communications Protocol)

    • SCADA/NOC (Network Operation Centers)

    • MDMS (Meter Data Management Systems)

  • Exposure to utility operations and communications systems testing

  • Some scripting or coding knowledge for workflow development


Project Overview:

  • Leading IT system integration across internal and external vendors

  • Designing and implementing a project tracking system using Power Automate

  • Mapping end-to-end processes in Visio

  • Ensuring integration with tools like GMS, MDMS, and ERCOT compliance systems

  • Participating in onsite metering and communication system testing


Location Preference:

  • Local to Austin, TX or nearby cities (e.g., Houston, San Antonio)

  • Must be available for occasional on-site meetings or testing
