Day in the Life of a System Software Engineer

We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate. From tiltrotor technology to tail sitting vehicles, our engineers work across a wide portfolio of aircraft programs. As an Engineering Intern at Bell, you can expect to:

  • Write and review code for system software development
  • Conduct unit test and debug software issues
  • Update and maintain technical documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for software integration

What You Will Need to be Successful

A Bachelor's degree or higher with a major in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science required

0-2 years of relevant experience

Available to begin full time, onsite, starting January 2026

What Will Make You Stand Out

Familiarity with Systems Engineering processes, from requirements through verification.

System integration experience, integrating complex systems, including sensors, components, complex electronic hardware, and software.

Software / coding experience using C++, C#, Matlab and other industry standard development environments.

Experience with MOSA standards / processes: FACE, HOST, SOSA, RTOS, ARINC 661, ARINC 653

Control system design and modeling using Simulink, and implementation on hardware.

Knowledge and experience of the most rigorous industry standard verification and validation practices for flight critical software applications.

Software verification test experience in high fidelity hardware-in-the-loop (HILS) environments using integrated flight dynamic modeling of air vehicle performance.
