Description

Robert Half is seeking a Workday Systems Administrator to support a learning and education nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon. This position will play a key role in supporting the post-implementation phase of Workday, with a focus on Finance module configuration, security, and user access.

The position is Hybrid, that is a 4-6 month contract-to-hire opportunity with potential to convert to full-time. Apply today!

Job Details:
  • Schedule: Core hours 9am-3pm, flexible on start time.
  • Duration: 4-6 month contract-to-hire
  • Location: Portland, OR (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite/week)


Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide backend administrative support for the Workday platform, including configurations and system maintenance (not leading implementation).
  • Configure and administer business processes in collaboration with program directors and department leaders.
  • Manage user access, security roles, permissions, and role-based workflows within Workday.
  • Build and modify reports (custom reports, dashboards, calculated fields) to support business needs.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, support system integrations, and resolve support tickets independently.
  • Collaborate with external implementation partners to enhance reporting and dashboard capabilities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with IT and Finance teams to translate operational needs into Workday configurations and solutions.
  • Maintain system integrity and ensure compliance with data privacy, security standards, and audit requirements.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in systems administration, HRIS administration, or business applications.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct, hands-on experience supporting Workday configuration and administration.
  • Strong proficiency in Workday security configuration, business process design, and role-based access management.
  • Expertise in building and maintaining Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
  • Familiarity with Workday integrations (no coding required, but must understand integration architecture and troubleshooting).
  • Solid understanding of Workday modules including HCM, Payroll, and Financials (Procurement, AP, Expense).
  • Basic knowledge of system architecture, data flows, and technical troubleshooting within cloud-based environments.
  • Strong collaboration skills with IT teams, Finance teams, and external Workday partners.
  • Familiarity with Workday's release cycles, update management processes, and system testing best practices.
  • Commitment to maintaining data privacy, compliance standards, and security protocols in cloud systems.
