Job Description

Job Title: Supplier Audit / Evaluation Specialist - Polymer & Chemical Commodities

Location: Beachwood, OH

Role Summary

The Supplier Audit / Evaluation Specialist will lead supplier audit and risk management programs for Polymer and Chemical commodities. This role is responsible for ensuring a resilient, compliant, and high-quality supply base through on-site audits, supplier risk assessment, performance monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration. The position focuses on driving measurable improvements in supplier quality, compliance, delivery, and service performance.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Audit Strategy & Execution

  • Lead and execute supplier audit programs for Polymer and Chemical commodities.
  • Conduct on-site supplier audits covering quality systems, manufacturing processes, material controls, and capacity assessments.
  • Validate supplier materials and processes across Polymer/Chemical commodities, including:
    • Adhesives
    • Engineered Polymers
    • Inorganic & Specialty Chemicals
    • Upstream Chemical Polymers

Supplier Risk Management

  • Develop, maintain, and update supplier risk registers.
  • Perform supplier risk assessments using FMEA, Supplier Risk Management (SRM), and other analytical tools.
  • Identify, prioritize, and mitigate supply, quality, compliance, and capacity risks.

Supplier Performance Management

  • Deploy and manage supplier scorecards including:
    • On-Time Delivery (OTD)
    • Defective Parts Per Million (DPPM)
    • Nonconformance Reports (NCRs)
    • Audit scores
    • Corrective action response times
    • Certification and compliance status
  • Drive supplier performance improvement and maturity through structured action plans.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure supplier compliance with applicable standards and regulations, including but not limited to:
    • ISO 9001
    • ISO 14001
    • ISO 13485
    • IATF 16949
    • Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements
  • Support governance, regulatory readiness, and audit closure activities.

Continuous Improvement & Analysis

  • Conduct supplier operational assessments for quality, supply chain, and capacity.
  • Apply value stream mapping to analyze material and process flows.
  • Identify gaps, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
  • Utilize SPC, Pareto analysis, 5-Why, 8D, and trend analysis to drive corrective actions.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to drive accountability, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
  • Support decision-making under ambiguity with data-driven insights.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • 8-10 years of experience in supplier auditing, supplier quality, or supplier assessment within Polymer/Chemical commodities.
  • Proven experience conducting supplier audits that resulted in measurable quality, compliance, or performance improvements.
