Job Title: Buyer I (Compressor & Air Piping Projects)
Location: Bellevue, WA (Hybrid - 3 days onsite: Tuesday, Wednesday + 1 flex day)
Contract Type: W2, 12-Month Contract
Pay Range: $27-$31/hour (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 9 AM-5 PM
About the Role:
Russell Tobin is partnering with a world-renowned leader in e-commerce and logistics to find a skilled Buyer I for a key automation initiative.
This is a unique opportunity to support compressor and air piping installation readiness work that s essential to powering one of the most advanced supply chain networks in the world.
What You ll Be Doing:

Own material buying for compressor and air piping install scope in support of automation projects

Request, review, and negotiate supplier quotes

Collaborate with internal ordering teams to manage POs and track delivery

Coordinate supply readiness and resolve escalation issues

Provide suppliers with timelines and manage expectations across teams

Ensure supplier compliance with cost, schedule, and quality standards

Contribute to sourcing strategy, continuous improvement, and supplier performance tracking
A Day in the Life:

50% cross-functional meetings with suppliers, engineers, and project managers

50% focused work handling procurement operations, supplier communication, and data management
-
You'll receive 2-3 weeks of onboarding, shadowing, and access to tools and resources to ramp up quickly
What You ll Bring:

3-5 years of experience in buying, procurement, or sourcing (industrial or construction background preferred)

Knowledge of compressor and air piping systems or similar mechanical/electrical scopes

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups) and strong data analysis abilities

Vendor negotiation experience and project coordination skills

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field

Ability to navigate fast-paced, collaborative, and sometimes ambiguous work environments
