What this job involves: This position involves conducting extensive hands-on operations and maintenance work in a multi-purpose office space at the Delaware Technology Center. You'll perform installation, repair, and maintenance of critical and non-critical electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems while monitoring building operations and conducting routine assessments. The role requires strong technical expertise and flawless execution in a high-risk critical environment with exceptional customer satisfaction expectations. Schedule is 2nd shift, 3 pm-11:00 pm, on-site in Wilmington.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
Performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical equipment including HVAC, chillers, UPS systems, transfer switches, and switchgear
Operating and maintaining fire detection and suppression systems, life safety equipment, and building management systems
Monitoring and adjusting air conditioning equipment, boilers, ventilating systems, water heaters, pumps, valves, piping, and filters
Conducting routine equipment rounds, tests, and data analysis to ensure proper functioning of all building systems
Installing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing equipment and controls in interior and exterior facility areas
Managing digital systems including fire alarm, duress, card access, and CCTV systems
Recording equipment readings and making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal system performance
Maintaining non-critical equipment such as refrigeration, heat exchangers, and hot water systems
Ensuring compliance with formal conduct of operations procedures and safety protocols in a critical environment
Desired experience and technical skills:
Requirements:
Strong technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
Experience with HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, and building management systems
Knowledge of UPS systems, transfer switches, switchgear, and electrical controls
Ability to perform installation, repair, and maintenance of critical building equipment
Experience with fire detection/suppression and life safety systems
Strong conduct of operations skills and attention to detail
Ability to work 2nd shift (3 pm-11:00 pm) and respond to critical situations
Preferred:
Experience in critical environment facilities or data centers
Familiarity with digital security systems (CCTV, card access, duress alarms)
Background in multi-purpose office or commercial building operations
Professional trade certifications or licenses
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems
