As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a critical cross-functional team responsible for developing and maintaining our core operational systems. This role requires a strong leader who can combine deep technical expertise with exceptional management skills. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of engineers, QA specialists, and product analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment that aligns with our business and IT objectives.

responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of 8-10 direct reports, including software engineers, QA specialists, and product analysts.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with business and IT stakeholders to define the team's vision and strategy, ensuring all projects align with our overarching goals.
- Project Delivery: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to our quality standards.
- System Ownership: Take ownership of our core business systems, including a custom C#/.NET in-house application, a digital platform, and Amazon Connect.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion best practices, quality control processes, and a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience
- Proven Leadership: Extensive experience in any type of leadership role (supervising, mentoring or directly managing)
- Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Experience leading diverse teams that include software engineers, QA specialists, and product analysts.
- Technical Background: A solid software engineering background with a strong understanding of C#, VB.NET and/or SQL or Guidewire Software
- Excellent Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively translate technical concepts to both IT and non-IT stakeholders.

- Core Systems Knowledge: Prior experience with similar core insurance systems.
- Automation Experience: Experience with AI/ML or Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to help further automate our systems is nice to have
- Cloud Experience: Experience working within an AWS Cloud environment is a bonus
- Omnichannel Experience: Experience with VoIP, particularly with platforms like Amazon Connect, would be a significant plus.
