Role: Retail functionl consultant

Location: Dublin, CA(Day one onsite required)

A Functional Consultant with strong business analysis skills and expertise in retail store operations. The ideal candidate will act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, well-documented, and successfully implemented. This is a hands-on role focused on gathering requirements, analysing processes, supporting system design, and validating solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with store operations teams, IT teams to gather, document, and prioritize business requirements for retail custom mobile app solution and processes (POS, inventory management, promotions, workforce management, etc.).
  • Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, workflows, and user stories for technical teams.
  • Conduct process mapping sessions and requirements workshops with cross-functional teams.
  • Support solution design discussions, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
  • Work closely with development and QA teams to review deliverables, support testing, and validate functionality against requirements.
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect triage, and issue resolution.
  • Create and maintain BRDs, FRDs, process flows, training materials, and other documentation.
  • Serve as the point of contact for business users during implementation, rollout, and stabilization phases.
  • Provide input on best practices for retail store operations to drive process efficiency and customer experience.
  • Support change management activities, including training coordination and communication with end-users.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in business, Retail Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with retail store systems such as POS, store inventory, pricing, promotions, or workforce/task management.
  • Strong skills in requirements elicitation, documentation, and process analysis.
  • Ability to create functional specs, workflows, and use cases with attention to detail.
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models, including writing user stories and managing a backlog.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills to bridge business and technology teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, retail-focused environment.
