About the Role
TEKsystems is partnering with a leading telecommunications client to hire a highly skilled OSP Design Engineer. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for someone with a strong background in fiber network design and permitting. You'll work on impactful telecom infrastructure projects-all from the comfort of your home.

About the Role
TEKsystems is partnering with a leading telecommunications client to hire a highly skilled OSP Design Engineer. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for someone with a strong background in fiber network design and permitting. You'll work on impactful telecom infrastructure projects-all from the comfort of your home.
What You'll Do
- Lead fielding tasks including aerial/underground notetaking and pole data collection.
- Apply NEC, NESC, and other design codes to OSP designs.
- Review jurisdictional data (wetlands, floodplains, etc.) for Right-of-Way (ROW) compliance.
- Design FTTX networks including MDU layouts, splicing schematics, and equipment plans.
- Create and QC construction drawings and permit packages.
- Determine cost-effective construction methods (bore, trench, micro-trench, etc.).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
- Prepare technical documentation and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
? Must-Have Software Skills (Non-Negotiable)
To be considered for this role, you must have hands-on experience with all of the following tools:
- ArcGIS
- AutoCAD / CADD
- 3-GIS
- Vetro FiberMap
If you do not have experience with these tools, this role may not be the right fit.
? Other Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in fiber design and permitting.
- Strong understanding of Telecom OSP design (FTTX, MDU, splicing, etc.).
- Experience with linear design and construction drawing creation.
- Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with specialty permits and jurisdictional reviews.
- Familiarity with QC processes and constructability reviews.
