Alta Planning + Design seeks an IT Systems Support Specialist for our Atlanta office!

We are a consulting firm with a mission to create active communities where bicycling and walking are safe, healthy, and regular activities. We specialize in bicycle, pedestrian, trail, park, greenway, and roadway planning, as well as design, engineering, and implementation, along with outreach and education programs. Day to Day
This position is responsible for ensuring the desktop, application, data, network, security, and VoIP systems are appropriately maintained, and to support the efforts of staff, and facilitate timely and efficient delivery of IT project deliverables.
A broad understanding of the following areas is required: desktop and laptop hardware, applications, IT support procedures, basic networking concepts, security, and VoIP, as well as the ability to respond quickly to multiple customer needs and take direction from senior staff.
Position Priorities
The essential priorities of this position are to be a collaborative member of Alta's IT team in the timely resolution of customer issues and document those efforts.

Compensation
The pay range for this job in Atlanta is $55,000-$63,000 annually. Placement within the range is based upon experience, skill-sets, and qualifications.

Responsibilities and Tasks
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Manage and maintain workstations, applications, and networks to ensure appropriate functionality working directly with Alta personnel
- Contribute to the implementation and management of corporate policies and procedures regarding the use of Alta's Information Technology systems
- Contribute to documentation for new and known issues or processes
- Document efforts in an IT issue/asset tracking application
- Elevate support cases to Senior IT team members when needed
- Assist ongoing IT projects
Qualifications
Required
This position requires a combination of skills, experience and education including, but not limited to
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an IT System Support Specialist, sysadmin, network analyst, or similar support position with strong customer engagement and trouble-shooting skills
- Solid understanding of current Windows Professional desktop operating systems (11), and Active Directory, Azure, Entra, Intune
- Basic understanding of the MacOS operating system
- Solid understanding of the Microsoft 365 environment including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive with an emphasis on internal and external sharing and collaboration
- Solid understanding of network systems
- Solid understanding of VoIP systems
- Solid understanding of multifunction printers and plotters including configuration, setup, and management, as well as the Microsoft Universal Print framework
- Ability to manage competing priorities, multiple, simultaneous tasks, and logically perform troubleshooting to arrive at effective solutions
- Work as a contributing member of a group, and individually, when necessary, with a strong sense of accountability and good decision-making skills
- Use best practices regarding IT systems and data security
- Maintain integrity and confidentiality regarding internal Alta data
- Proven interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to Alta offices throughout the US
- Ability to lift 30lbs (14Kg), and occasionally work in confined spaces such as under desks or within cramped telco-rooms
There are a number of additional skills, experience, and education that would be beneficial to this position including, but not limited to:
- Solid and demonstrated understanding of enterprise sync and share applications such as Windows Azure, Intune, and Egnyte,
- Solid and demonstrated understanding of DNS and DHCP concepts and troubleshooting
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 applications and administration
- Ability to work with non-technical customers and explain complex technical concepts in ways that will be understood
- An associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field of study, or two (2) years of IT industry experience
