Summary of Responsibilities:
The client is seeking a ServiceNow CMDB Analyst (Contractor) to support efforts around data quality, CI normalization, deduplication, and relationship accuracy within our enterprise ServiceNow CMDB. This role focuses on identifying, analyzing, and resolving inconsistencies across Configuration Items (CIs). You will work closely with CMDB engineers, data owners, and platform administrators to ensure clean, actionable data across the CMDB, using reconciliation rules, CI comparison techniques, and ServiceNow tools to uphold the integrity of configuration data.
Responsibilities:

Execute bulk updates, CI cleanup tasks, and CI deduplication efforts using Transform Maps, Data Sources, or update scripts.
Work with stakeholders to resolve CI ownership, classification, or lifecycle discrepancies.
Identify data gaps or incorrect relationships (e.g., missing parent/child or host/application relationships) and recommend or execute corrections.
Run reports and dashboards to monitor CMDB health, completeness, and compliance to model definitions.
Document cleanup workflows, data validation rules, and reconciliation decisions for traceability.
Required Qualifications:
2-4+ years of hands-on experience working with ServiceNow CMDB, specifically on CI data analysis and reconciliation tasks.
Strong working knowledge of CMDB data models, class hierarchy, and how CIs relate to IT infrastructure and applications.
Experience using ServiceNow tools such as:
o CMDB Health Dashboard
o CI Class Manager
o Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE)
o Transform Maps and Data Sources
Proficiency with analyzing large datasets and using ServiceNow reporting tools to drive data quality initiatives.
Comfortable working independently with data anomalies and escalating systemic issues to engineering teams as needed.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM 4.0) and applying it to CI relationship mapping and classification.
Experience resolving conflicts between discovered and manually created records.
Understanding of CMDB integrations (SCCM, JAMF, cloud CMDBs) from a data reconciliation perspective.
ServiceNow certifications such as:
o CMDB Micro-Certifications
o Discovery Fundamentals (helpful, but not required)
Experience in retail, logistics, or large distributed environments with complex CI landscapes.
Engagement Details:
Duration: 6-12 months, with potential for extension
