Job Summary:

American Express is looking for a Senior QA Automation Automation Engineer with 8+ years of progressive experience in software testing and quality assurance. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in test automation, cloud-native applications, CI/CD, and modern QA Automation practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions for American Express platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable test automation frameworks across UI, API, and integration layers.
• Develop, maintain, and execute complex test cases using Java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and RestAssured.
• Drive test strategy for cloud-native microservices and containerized deployments (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Perform thorough API and back-end testing, leveraging tools like Postman, SoapUI, and Swagger.
• Utilize CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions for seamless automation and integration.
• Execute performance/load testing using tools like Apache JMeter.
• Write complex SQL queries for data validation and ensure data integrity across MS SQL and DB2 databases.
• Implement BDD/TDD testing strategies with tools like Cucumber and collaborate in Agile ceremonies.
• Mentor junior QA Automation engineers and review code/test artifacts to ensure high quality and coverage.
• Log, track, and triage bugs using JIRA, contributing to continuous improvement in the QA lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 8+ years of QA Automation automation engineering experience in enterprise-scale environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java-based test automation frameworks.
• Expertise in API testing and automation using RestAssured or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipeline integration and version control using Git.
• Proficiency in BDD tools (Cucumber, Gherkin) and Agile/Scrum practices.
• Solid experience with cloud technologies like Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or OpenShift.
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes for containerized testing environments.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases for complex data validation.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to lead QA Automation initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
