In this position you will support our eB2B data feeds applications by upgrading, maintaining and resolving issues inside the internal data feeds applications as well as incident management for our partner integrations. This work involves development of adding, editing, and/or removing data elements within the data feeds sent to our firm partners. You will work with data feeds sourced with data from upstream systems across Annuity, Life, and Retirement lines of business. These data feeds are vital to our Nationwide firm partners because they provide them essential information about the contracts and policies they hold with Nationwide.
We are looking for candidates passionate about developing data-oriented applications, ETL and B2B integrations, who want to learn about various data pipelines across different lines of business. You will be exposed to code that in some cases is highly customized to meet the crucial data feed needs of our external firm partners.
Top Technical Skills:
1) Proficiency in Java
2) Proficiency in SQL
3) Proficiency in version control using Git and GitHub
4) Proficient knowledge of Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) for secure data transmissions from internal to external, or vice versa
4) Proficiency in or awareness of networking concepts such as firewall rules

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
Experience: Two or more years of analysis and technology experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle moderately sophisticated business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
