Job Description
The Materials Manager is a key position for materials management. In conjunction with the senior material manager, they will be responsible for identifying, defining and leading opportunities to improve operational effectiveness while striving to achieve the expectations of our government customer and program teams.
We seek a diligent, dedicated and resourceful person who will further our success. The successful candidate plans their work schedule to meet project timelines, keep multiple records, be self-motivated and detail oriented, maintain a professional presence and take ownership of tasks and plans. Additionally, they are responsible for training and development of their team with a drive to lead by example in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leads initiative to ensure continuity of supply throughout the operation to achieve uninterrupted supply of quality components and assemblies through the development of Mission Essential Lists, Master Parts Lists, and other program schedules and plans.
  • Works closely with program and government stakeholders to achieve operational objectives in cost, quality, delivery and inventory.
  • Develops skills through experience and training to become the subject matter expert in all areas of responsibility acting as the technical resource to other groups to address and resolve inquires, problems, and any scheduling issues that may arise.
  • Deploys demand driven materials strategy, processes and tools that supports operational excellence achieving long-range goals and objectives.
  • Leads and improves analytics, processes and procedures that drive continuous change, improvements and corrective actions, as needed.
  • Coaches and mentors the materials team to improve engagement with key stakeholders and to establish communication channels between the cross functional teams.
  • Organizes and prioritizes work assignment to complete assignments / tasks on time, with quality and demonstrate the ability to anticipate problem areas in advance.
  • Assumes responsibility for defining resource needs and works within budget and staffing parameters to accomplish objectives for area of responsibility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of related experience
Ability to identify and resolve conflict
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attentive to detail

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Familiarity with SCMS and DPAS databases

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $96470 - $164010

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
