Job Description:
As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive database administration and maintenance. You will work primarily with MS SQL databases and will have the opportunity to learn and support PostgreSQL and other types of databases; the Wellpartner Data Platform. Your role will involve ensuring the health, performance, and reliability of our database systems.

The typical pay range for this role is:
$79,310.00 - $158,620.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.

Job Description:
As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive database administration and maintenance. You will work primarily with MS SQL databases and will have the opportunity to learn and support PostgreSQL and other types of databases; the Wellpartner Data Platform. Your role will involve ensuring the health, performance, and reliability of our database systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide SQL Server database administration and maintenance support.
- Perform backup and recovery, restores, creating new servers/instances, optimizing indexes, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
- Maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and recovery time objectives.
- Utilize and build monitoring tools and dashboards to tune performance, mitigate risks, and prevent issues.
- Create documentation, processes, and procedures to support the data platform.
- Participate with Wellpartner change and release management process.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure timely resolution of critical issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator (DBA).
- Strong knowledge of database backup and recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft's high availability and replication strategies for SQL Server on Windows.
- Experience with SolarWinds or similar monitoring tools.
- Experience in SQL and PowerShell
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python
- Experience with Microsoft SSIS and SSRS
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, REDIS, and object storage
- Familiarity with Git, Linux, Apache Airflow
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
