Were working with the premier sports, wellness, and active entertainment destination brand in the country, on a search for a Community Engagement Manager in Springfield, VA.
Their flagship development in Springfield, Virginia features a premium health club, celebrity chef-inspired restaurant, premium medi-spa, 20,000 sq. ft. active entertainment center, as well as an indoor field house with FIFA-sized field, two NHL-regulation sized ice rinks, 52-meter Olympic competition pool and much, much more. They allow the whole family to pursue their passions in 30+ sports.
The Community Engagement Manager will assist in the development, coordination, and execution of a community engagement strategy to support our client and be an ambassador of our commitment maximize human potential.
This role will contribute to improving existing community offerings, identifying opportunities or gaps across the communities we operate and generating new membership leads. The Community Engagement Manager will act as a liaison between the community and our client, providing open communication about the products and services we offer.

Responsibilities
- Participates and assists in the development and implementation of strategic communication plans for community engagement across our clients network, including messaging, presentations, and other written materials, identifying, and securing public engagement and volunteer opportunities
- Creates and plans programs that engage and support the community and employees
- Through various engagement activations and experiences, generate a minimum of 150 new membership leads per month for the club
- Supports marketing initiatives and represents the organization at events
- Develops and maintains strong credibility and good relationships with internal and external stakeholders including local officials and community members
- Support the identification of organizations that align with our clients values in an effort to promote a culture of good citizenship
- Maintains a high level of knowledge about the issues important to communities for which it is responsible and is expected to think and act proactively and generate ideas to advance the goals of the department and company
- Be available as needed to support crisis communications
- Ensures that project/department goals are met and adhering to approved budgets
- Leading an outreach team or coordinating a team to execute on The St. James lead generation objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree required OR equivalent combination of training, education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- 3 - 5 years relevant work experience
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with teams across and at all levels of theorganization
- Creative thinker and problem solveralways looking beyond the available options when up against roadblocks and unafraid to negotiate.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Familiarity with community engagement efforts
- Experience developing and executing communications plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to foster, develop and maintain relationships
- Strong experiential acumenknowledge to create and produce thoughtful, engaging events that deliver against strategic objectives and are tailored for the intended audience
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to execute projects, including with those who may be remote.
- Able to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 lbs.
