We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Apple Services Engineering (ASE) who brings deep passion for building distributed large scale data processing systems, frameworks and platforms using big data technologies.

Key Qualifications

3+ years of programming experience in Java or Scala.Experience building distributed data processing applications using Apache Spark or Apache Flink.Experience in building and deploying large scale applications in Cloud based environmentProven skills in designing scalable, highly available distributed systems using technologies like Kafka, Iceberg, Kubernetes, Airflow and Cassandra.Good understanding of software engineering principles and fundamentals including algorithms and data structures.Self-directed, self-motivated and ability to create architecture and design documents.Ability to capture multi-functional requirements and translate them into practical engineering tasks.

Description

The Subscriptions Analytics team is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on Apple services subscription data eg Apple Music, TV+, Arcade, Appstore etc. From this data overall growth of Subscription services is calculated for instance impact of offers, promos and new features, launch of new subscription tiers, release of new hardware etc. The volume of the data is on petabytes scale. The systems should scale well, be highly available and provide consistent results. The systems we build have significant impact on our collaborators. And most importantly, we are deeply committed to Apple's privacy policy, which forms Apple's core values. You will have important responsibility and influence in designing and building the data platform to empower data analytics. - We are looking for someone with a love for data and ability to iterate quickly on all stages of data pipelines.- This position involves working on a small team to develop large scale data pipelines and analytical solutions using big data technologies.- Will lead and drive partner teams towards successful implementation of the full solution. - Successful candidates will have strong engineering skills and communication.- The ideal candidate has a real passion for quality and an ability to understand complex systems. Education & Experience

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information systems, Software Engineering, Data Science or related field. Advanced degree in a related field a plus

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
