RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Capital Markets QA Engineer - API in San Diego, CA.

Summary:
The IT QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software solutions with a strong emphasis on API validation, system integration, and end-to-end functional testing. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to validate that integrations between systems meet business and technical requirements, particularly within the mortgage capital markets or mortgage servicing domain.

Essential Functions:
* Collaborate with agile team members to define and execute test strategies focused on API and system integration validation
* Analyze complex software systems and design test approaches to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability across platforms
* Participate in integration testing across internal and third-party systems, ensuring data consistency and business rule alignment
* Identify root causes of integration issues and work with developers and business analysts to resolve them
* Validate API endpoints, payload structures, and response behaviors using tools like Postman or similar
* Ensure traceability of test cases to business and technical requirements
* Document test results and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
* Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and integration validation practices
* Support cross-product, end-to-end testing efforts across the mortgage technology stack

REQUIREMENTS:
* High School diploma or equivalent; Technical training or degree preferred
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a QA or software testing role with a focus on API and integration testing
* Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and HTTP protocols
* Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar platforms
* Familiarity with system integration concepts, including middleware, message queues, and data transformation
* Experience in the mortgage industry, specifically in capital markets or mortgage servicing, is required
* Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Office 365
* Ability to work in an agile environment and collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and documentation abilities

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
