The Role:
The General Motors Manufacturing Group is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualified professional for Industrial Engineering Reporting & Throughput (TIP) Engineer. This role is in charge of integrating and managing plant headcount reports, coordinating TIP initiatives, supporting training and problem solving to reach Business Plan Deployment (BPD) targets across GM Lake Orion Plant.
In this role, you may oversee data analysis activities with Represented & Non-Represented Employees, General Assembly, Paint, Body Shop and Global Supply Chain Organization. You will be expected to apply independent judgement within the framework of Global Manufacturing System with a strong focus on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE) to be able to reach Business Plan Deployment (BPD). Selected candidate will gain the chance to develop new skills while contributing to the advancement of manufacturing processes that support the groundbreaking shift toward GM Zero-Zero-Zero Vision.

What You'll Do:
Reporting Functions:
- Generate and maintain Global Workbook files monthly for all Shops at GM Lake Orion
- Cross check authorized headcount monthly
- Lead headcount budget setting for the site
- Create and maintain salary headcount templates
- Develop headcount reports as necessary for hiring activities and to meet productivity targets
- Process manpower authorization requests & help with budgeting-allocation decisions
TIP Functions:
- Responsible for Level 1 Throughput Improvement Process (TIP) Reporting
- Review the Level 1 TIP with staff
- Provide TIP & Data Collection Coaching
- Monitor WebTip models & reporting. Provide communication if discrepancies need addressed
- Assist IE Lead to ensure planned line speed changes are input into the simulation and will make rate
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years Industrial Engineering Experience
- Experience managing, analyzing and creating a positive culture.
- Experience solving problems and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication and decision making.
- Demonstrate high analytical skills using Webtip GWB.
- Basic computer proficiency (i.e. Microsoft Office, typing, email, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial / manufacturing engineering or related area
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to organize, plan, and teach
- High level of analytical ability
- Knowledge in Continuous Improvement.
- Understanding of Vehicle Assembly Process for SUV / Trucks
- Lean Manufacturing Experience.
- Waste Elimination walk arounds.
