Job Description
We are seeking a skilled ERP Batch Job Engineer to join our operations team. This role is responsible for integrating, scheduling, and optimizing ERP batch jobs developed by product teams, ensuring seamless execution of mission-critical business cycles. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ERP functional flows and the technical expertise to integrate and monitor jobs across multiple teams and systems.
This position requires on-call availability to address production issues and ensure uninterrupted operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Batch Job Integration & Management: Integrate, schedule, and manage batch jobs developed by product and application teams to support critical processes such as MRP runs, month-end financial closure, quarterly close, and year-end activities.
Functional Job Flow Creation & Maintenance:
o Develop, document, and maintain functional job flow maps for critical weekend, monthly, quarterly, and yearly ERP processes.
o Ensure these flows are kept up to date with system changes, business process updates, and new integrations.
Functional Flow Understanding: Collaborate with functional and product teams to map end-to-end ERP process flows, ensuring integrated jobs align with operational requirements.
Dependency & Sequencing Management: Maintain job dependencies and sequencing across ERP modules and interfacing systems for smooth execution.
Collaboration with Technical Foundation & Integration Teams:
o Partner with technical foundation teams to configure, set up, and operate batch job environments.
o Work closely with integration teams to ensure cross-system data flows and interfaces are aligned with job execution schedules.
Alert System Operations:
o Operate and enhance an automated alerting system for job failures, delays, and anomalies.
o Leverage AI-based monitoring tools to improve detection accuracy, reduce false positives, and enable predictive issue prevention.
Operational Excellence:
o Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in production batch job runs.
o Identify opportunities to streamline operations through automation and process optimization.
On-Call Support: Provide timely resolution of issues during on-call rotations, minimizing business disruption.
Collaboration: Partner with release management, product development teams, technical foundation, and infrastructure groups to coordinate updates, integrations, and system changes impacting batch operations.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of job configurations, workflows, alert mechanisms, recovery procedures, and functional job flow maps.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience in ERP environments (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) with a strong grasp of core functional flows (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing).
Hands-on experience with batch job scheduling/orchestration tools (e.g., Control-M, Redwood, Autosys, SAP SM37/SM36).
Knowledge of general integration points between ERP modules and external systems.
Understanding of financial closing cycles, MRP, and other critical ERP processes.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly resolve production issues.
Familiarity with automation, scripting, and alert system operations.
Experience with ServiceNow (Service Central) experience: 2+ years of experience with ServiceNow platform, including incident, problem, and change management, as well as experience with ServiceNow modules such as IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
Agile Project Management Tools experience: 2+ years of experience with Atlassian Jira for project planning, tracking, and management, and Zephyr for test management, including creating and managing projects, workflows, and test cases, as well as experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
Exposure to AI/ML-driven monitoring tools (preferred).
