Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
6 years of experience creating content for technical audiences (e.g., developer documentation, Computer Science course material, or IT administration playbooks)
5 years of experience in technical writing, instructional design, or equivalent practical experience in a role focused on technical communication (e.g., Product Documentation, Technical Journalism, or Training or Support for technical products or services)
5 years of experience in content management/strategy or project management
Responsibilities
Technical writers communicate complex information clearly, concisely and accurately, and without relying on jargon
As a technical writer, your role involves tasks such as writing conceptual overviews and procedures, reading and writing example code, or updating help center queries and FAQs
You develop complex, in-depth communications for internal and external audiences and manage projects that involve coordinating multiple junior writers
Our writers own the content experience for Workspace Admin and Enterprise end users
Plan for, research, and write clear, concise content designed to help admins navigate Google Workspace
Match content with the established tone and style, including the following the content types, help articles, multimedia, and UX writing for the Admin console
Coordinate cross-functionally (e.g., Product Management, UX, Engineering, Go-to-Market, Legal) on content strategy, product knowledge, and feature roadmaps
Access test accounts to test feature functionality and verify UI
Prepare and publish help content using Connect Composer
Use insights to inform content strategy and ongoing usability improvements
