Title: Jr. Network Administrator Company: Financial Services / Data Management Company
Pay Rate: $27 - $29+/Hour
Position Type: 6-month Contract to Hire
Location: Columbus, OH, United States
Onsite role

Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Network Administrator to join our growing IT team. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in network administration, a strong desire to learn, and the ability to support daily network operations, troubleshoot basic issues, and assist with infrastructure upgrades.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1-2 years of experience in IT support or network administration preferred but not required
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA (preferred but not required)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and support of network hardware and software
  • Provide first-level support for network-related incidents and escalate as necessary
  • Maintain network documentation, including IP address schemes and equipment inventory
  • Collaborate with senior network administrators to implement security protocols and best practices
  • Participate in patch management and system updates
  • Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution
  • Perform routine network maintenance and performance tuning
  • Support users with VPN, connectivity, and basic IT-related issues
