Description: Our client is currently seeking a Senior SRE/ DevOps Engineer local to Austin TX

Position: SRE/DevOps Software Engineer (1084362)

Location: Austin, Texas

Duration: 8-month contract-to-hire

About the Job

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)/DevOps Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of applications, leveraging modern DevOps practices and tools.

Responsibilities
  • Design and manage scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure on AWS, including container orchestration using Kubernetes (EKS) and ECS.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Spinnaker, and Jenkins to automate provisioning and configuration.
  • Implement observability solutions using OpenTelemetry (preferred), ELK Stack, Splunk, Dynatrace, and AWS CloudWatch for comprehensive monitoring and alerting.
  • Write and maintain scripts in Python, Bash, or Go, and contribute to application development in Python or Java/Spring Boot.
  • Collaborate with feature teams to support CI/CD pipelines, third-party installations, and resolve infrastructure challenges.
  • Apply best practices in Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Test-Driven Development, cloud-native development, application resiliency, and security.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, EKS, and ECS.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or Go) and at least one programming language (Python or Java).
  • Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Spinnaker.
  • Strong understanding of observability and monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps and SRE principles.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing.
  • Background in working within agile feature teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
