Role Summary

The SVP Global Infrastructure Engineering and Operations is responsible for the engineering and operations and end-to-end management of server and compute infrastructure across Oaktree's global environments.

This role focuses on hardware lifecycle planning, vendor and partner engagement, and infrastructure architecture governance for on-premises, Cloud, and hybrid deployments.

As a strategic planner and procurement lead, this position ensures that server and compute platforms are designed, refreshed, and managed in alignment with business needs, security requirements, and operational performance goals.

Responsibilities

Leadership, Collaboration and Governance
  • Oversee the global infrastructure and operations teams. Responsible for 24x7x365 global coverage of monitoring and infrastructure support.
  • Provide and oversee structured processes around ITIL and asset management (CMDB, ITAM).
  • Work closely with Oaktree CISO and the security team to ensure there is alignment and shared direction and roadmap.
  • Work closely with the MSP and MSSP providers to own oversight of the infrastructure, assets, and setup.
  • Manage relationship with and oversight of MSP and colo data centers and trading data centers globally.
  • Act as infrastructure architecture advisor, reviewing proposed designs for performance, availability, and vendor compatibility.
  • Contribute to internal infrastructure governance processes, guiding the firm's strategy for hybrid compute infrastructure and regional expansions.
  • Manage projects, statues reports, run monthly operating reviews (MORs), quarterly business reviews.
  • Very data oriented. Identify, manage, and measure detailed KPIs for infrastructure and operations.

Hardware Lifecycle & Refresh Management
  • Lead global server refresh cycles across data centers and regional offices, including Dell blade servers, Cisco UCS, and VxRail systems.
  • Define and execute hardware lifecycle strategies based on support expiration, performance, and capacity planning.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of server assets and track replacement schedules aligned to support and warranty status using CMDB and IT Asset Management software (ServiceNow).
  • Ensure infrastructure remains current, secure, and supportable by coordinating replacement of aging or unsupported assets.

Vendor and Partner Management
  • Serve as primary point of contact for vendor negotiations and procurement activities related to Dell and Cisco infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with partners such as Redesign (Dell) and Impacts (Cisco) to obtain quotes, confirm compatibility, and manage order logistics.
  • Work with procurement and finance teams to ensure contract terms, SLAs, and support renewal dates are documented and executed on time.

Architecture Planning and Infrastructure Design
  • Review and approve infrastructure architecture for all hardware deployments, including blade chassis, converged systems (e.g., VxRail), and hybrid compute environments.
  • Collaborate with virtualization, storage, and site leads (e.g., Corey, Keith) to align designs with operational models and business continuity strategies.
  • Validate capacity needs for planned application rollouts or hardware decommissioning and design appropriate infrastructure to support future state environments.

Contract Oversight and Financial Planning
  • Track support renewals and hardware service agreements, ensuring alignment with business continuity, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate cost planning, budgeting, and CapEx forecasting for infrastructure refresh initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership to present infrastructure refresh plans and risk mitigation strategies for aging platforms.

Inventory and Asset Management
  • Develop and maintain centralized records of server deployments, including location, configuration, support status, and usage.
  • Lead efforts to establish visibility into global hardware footprint through improved tooling (e.g., ServiceNow CMDB) and vendor engagement.
  • Identify gaps in current asset management processes and implement temporary and long-term solutions for lifecycle visibility.

Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure planning and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise-scale server refresh initiatives, including vendor negotiation and deployment execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of Dell EMC, Cisco UCS, and converged systems such as VxRail.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure procurement, vendor SLAs, contract negotiation, and lifecycle planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, data center operations, security, and finance teams.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to clearly articulate infrastructure plans to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in enterprise environments with high availability and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure architectures and supporting platforms (e.g., VMware, Azure, NetApp).
  • Experience using or implementing CMDB tools such as ServiceNow.
  • Certification in IT asset management or enterprise infrastructure (e.g., ITIL, TOGAF, Cisco or Dell certs).

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Technology Management, Information Technology, or a related field, a plus.

Base Salary Range

$200,000 - $225,000

In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
