They are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer who will be the driving force behind modernizing build, deployment, and automation practices across the engineering organization.

In this role, you'll architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines, champion DevSecOps principles, enhance cloud deployment processes, and collaborate closely with development, architecture, and security teams. This is a hands-on technical role ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys mentoring others, and wants to influence enterprise-wide engineering standards. This role is on-site in Downtown Chicago with remote flexibility.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years working in software engineering or DevOps roles supporting enterprise-level systems
  • Advanced experience building and administering CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, TeamCity, Octopus, or similar
  • Hands-on expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Strong cloud engineering background with Azure and AWS
  • Deep knowledge of containerization tools including Docker, Podman, and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (EKS/ECS)
  • Experience integrating automated security and quality scanning tools (e.g., Checkmarx, SonarQube)
  • Strong scripting and programming proficiency (Python, C++, C#, Groovy, MSBuild, NuGet, etc.)

Daily Responsibilities
  • Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support highly available cloud and hybrid environments
  • Automate resource provisioning and configuration for development, testing, and production workloads
  • Partner with software engineers to ensure smooth integration, testing, and deployment of applications
  • Implement DevSecOps practices by embedding security controls, scanning, and monitoring into automated workflows
  • Analyze gaps in processes and systems, recommending automation opportunities and improving deployment reliability
  • Support cloud architecture discussions, ensuring technology choices align with security and performance standards
