Job Details

DataStaff, Inc. is in immediate need of a Batch Operations Technician for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients located in Raleigh, NC.
*The candidates must be available to rotate between three OVERNIGHT shifts (5 PM to 1 AM, 10 PM to 6 AM and 1 AM to 9 AM)
Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day batch operation tasks and deliverables within enterprise batch processing of the client s system s batch architecture.
  • Provide production operations support by performing and monitoring batch process
  • Verifying batch results and supporting nightly production environments across multiple servers.
  • Performing first level analysis of all data interface processing exceptions, logs
  • Escalating unresolved issues and problems according to defined on-call support procedures.
  • Resolve errors and escalate issues, when necessary, by working with functional teams to ensure timely analysis and resolution, in alignment with application service level objectives.
  • Supporting the batch monitoring team by analyzing production workflows and recommending improvements to job schedule performance
  • Providing rapid support during outages and assisting in workload automation forecasting
  • Collaborating with the technology design team to ensure backup and recovery systems meet business continuity SLA requirements
  • Working with application support teams and business stakeholders to define acceptable service levels and develop incident management procedures

Required Skills:

  • 5 Years - Experience as a GMI Operator and Support specialist capable of monitoring/managing batch steps, analyzing and responding to user queries.
  • 5 Years - Experience with batch operations, job scheduling and monitoring tools.
  • 5 Years - Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate issues and status updates with business users, second level support, and development teams.
  • 5 Years - Experience working with internal teams to identify opportunities to improve the product and customer experience.
  • 5 Years - Demonstrated experience documenting processes and procedures as required.
  • 5 Years - Experience and knowledge on Operating Systems such as Unix, Mainframe and Windows.
  • 5 Years - Experience with relational database skills, Basic SQL programming
  • 5 Years - Experience running shell scripts on a UNIX or similar environment; and reviewing log files.
  • 5 Years - Experience with priority issues, calls with external/internal clients for troubleshooting issues and problem solving.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
