Job Details

Join our dynamic team as an experienced Linux Administrator (CAE) to join our team and support mission-critical systems. The role involves performing daily Enterprise Level Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) application Maintenance & Support.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the LSF job scheduling environment, including application integration.
  • Strong understanding of CAE solver, Pre and Post processing applications.
  • Create & maintain scripts using at least (2) programming languages (e.g., Korn shell, C Shell, Perl, or Awk, etc.) to perform health checks & automate routine tasks.
  • Install, upgrade & test CAE applications on clients/servers previous to release into production.
  • Maintain & Install CAE Software licenses.
  • Create and maintain documentation for Applications, XXXs/Servers, incidents, and their known resolutions, as well as common best practices.
  • Record and track all CAE application outages and propose countermeasures.
  • Maintain CAE Application Utilization trends (Monthly Reports) & provide countermeasures as needed.
  • Troubleshoot/diagnose CAE application issues.
  • Ability to create/maintain standardized processes.
  • Utilize the Change Management Process to obtain approval for environment changes.
  • Create a detailed/clear status on activities.
  • Daily time management and accurate time reporting.
  • Support Fiscal Year project implementation (e.g., new applications, workload migrations, etc).
  • Perform a thorough initial and regular health checks and implement necessary countermeasures.
  • Apply application fixes & maintenance patches and install/maintain compilers & runtime libraries.
  • Create and maintain documentation for applications, incidents, and their known resolutions, as well as common best practices of Enterprise Level Systems.
  • Create daily monitoring & error checklists on applications & workstations and train staff in their proper usage.

Requirements:
  • 4+ years of installation/configuration of CAE applications experience.
  • 3+ years of Linux OS administration experience.
  • Hands-on experience in building and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Strong understanding of the LSF job scheduler.
  • Experience with shell languages and scripting like Korn shell, C Shell, Perl or Awk, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking.
  • Experience maintaining licenses serves (Flex, RLM, etc).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Visio document creation.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or general Help Desk ticket software.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to follow & enforce defined division processes.
  • Must work well within a diverse, integrated team environment.
  • Excellent organization & time management skills in addition to a high level of problem-solving and analysis.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service & support with prompt problem resolution & follow-up.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in OP monthly team meetings and participate in team-building efforts.
  • Contribute to OP technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
  • Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
  • Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
