Job Title: IT Field Service Technician (Kiosk / LTS)
Location: San Jose, California - 225 W Tasman Dr, San Jose, CA 95134
Department: IT Infrastructure Services
Reports to: IT Field Service Regional Lead
Type: Onsite (No hybrid / Remote Option)
Budget: 3300 USD per month
Job Summary:
The IT Field Service Technician provides advanced technical support in resolving hardware and
software issues for end-users across both Mac and Windows environments. This role requires a
strong technical background with expertise in troubleshooting, customer service, and reporting. The
technician will document and report service activities using Microsoft Office tools, manage IT
assets, and be responsible for resolving complex issues while delivering high-quality service to both
remote and on-site users.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Service Support (Inperson/Video)
o Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for IT hardware/software (Windows & macOS).
o Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues, installations, upgrades, and replacements.
o Perform on-site visits for diagnosing/repairing/replacing faulty equipment.
o Track/manage IT assets and conduct regular inventory assessments.
o Collaborate with procurement for new equipment acquisition.
Reporting & Documentation:
o Maintain documentation of activities and troubleshooting steps.
o Prepare reports on incidents, response times, and resolution using MS Excel.
o Log and track service requests in the service management system.
Technical Expertise:
o Troubleshoot complex hardware/software issues (Windows/macOS).
o Mentor Level 1 technicians.
o Stay updated with IT infrastructure technologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree in IT/CS or equivalent experience.
Experience:
o 3+ years in IT support or field services.
o Hands-on with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
o Troubleshooting experience in both Windows and macOS.
Skills:
o Strong troubleshooting, reporting, and communication skills.
o Asset management and ITSM/ticketing system knowledge.
Additional Requirements:
o Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform on-site tasks, and travel locally.
o Willingness to work flexible hours / on-call.
o Certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL) are a plus
