Job Overview

Client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Intelligence Consultant with deep expertise in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Azure Synapse Analytics. This role will support enterprise-scale analytics initiatives, enabling data-driven decision-making across investment, operational, and leadership teams.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical depth, advanced analytical thinking, and the ability to translate complex datasets into actionable business insights within a fast-paced financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring high performance, scalability, and usability
  • Build and maintain tabular/semantic models using Power BI, Analysis Services, or Microsoft Fabric
  • Develop and manage data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Work extensively with Azure Synapse Analytics for data warehousing, analytics, and performance tuning
  • Leverage Microsoft Fabric to support modern BI and analytics architectures
  • Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, DAX/MDX calculations, and data models
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights
  • Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance best practices
  • Support and enhance enterprise BI standards and analytics frameworks

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, analytics, or data engineering
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI, including:
    • Data modeling and transformations
    • DAX measures and calculations
    • Visualizations and dashboard design
    • Performance optimization
  • 3+ years of experience with Azure cloud services, specifically:
    • Azure Synapse Analytics
    • Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, DAX/MDX
  • Proven experience designing large-scale enterprise tabular/semantic models
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Factory, Semantic Models)
  • Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis or automation
  • Prior experience in financial services or investment management environments
