We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Project Engineering to join our engineering team at our Windsor Locks facility. In this role, you will manage and control the scope, cost, schedule, and risk of assigned projects. You will collaborate closely with multiple functional groups, including systems and design engineers, program and project management teams, component suppliers, and customers.

Together, you will drive the engineering design process in a fast-paced environment, focusing on the development and integration of electrical and mechanical systems for military engine programs.

What You Will Do

  • Manage the design and integration of complex assemblies in accordance with Collins's product development process.

  • Provide design oversight for specifications, drawings, and test plans.

  • Perform system and component requirements reviews and compliance assessments.

  • Develop and manage project risk and mitigation plans.

  • Develop and deliver detailed presentations for product design reviews.

  • Support product verification, certification, and production incorporation.

  • Conduct Relentless Root Cause & Corrective Action (RRCCA) investigations for field and production engine test component removals.

  • Coordinate Class I and Class II engineering changes through the Collins and Pratt & Whitney Configuration Control Board processes.

  • Collaborate with Category 1 suppliers to carry out all engineering tasks necessary to support program and customer milestones and objectives.

  • Develop and present project status updates and closure plans to Collins, customer engineering teams, and program leadership.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrated expertise in planning and executing complex tasks effectively.

  • Experience managing multiple priorities while meeting tight schedules and delivering projects within budget.

  • Comfortable working across a highly matrixed organization, collaborating with team members, suppliers, and customers.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.

  • Experience with CORE systems or tools is highly preferred to enhance project management and cross-functional collaboration.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
