Role: Mainframe Security Professional
Location: Mclean ,VA Onsite (All five Days)
Mandatory Skills :: RACF and zSecure, Security auditing, Security configuration.
Job description: Minimum 15+ Years Experience.
The primary responsibility for this role is to support baseline security configuration compliance efforts across mainframe environments.
This includes leveraging zSecure to monitor, assess, and remediate non-compliance with DISA STIGs for RACF/z/OS, as well as managing and maintaining compliance for DISA STIGs applicable to IMS and DB2.
The candidate should have a strong understanding of mainframe systems, including various databases and scheduling processes.
Candidate must be highly hands-on with mainframe coding, particularly with IMS and other mainframe database technologies, though the role will primarily involve reviewing code rather than writing it.
This position will act as a liaison between the vendor and the client, ensuring effective coordination, technical alignment, and quality oversight and reporting.
Main skills:
- Strong understanding of IBM z/OS architecture, subsystems, and core components (TSO, JES2/JES3, VTAM, SDSF, ISPF).
- Hands-on experience with RACF (Resource Access Control Facility) including user/group administration, profiles, permissions, and security class definitions.
- Deep knowledge of RACF database structure, backup, and recovery processes.
- Proficiency in defining and maintaining security for datasets, CICS, IMS, DB2, and batch jobs.
- Experience with RACF utilities and commands and familiarity with zSecure or similar mainframe security auditing tools.
- Understanding of SMF (System Management Facility) records and ability to interpret security-related event logs.
- Experience in implementing password policies, MFA, and digital certificates.
