System Specialist / Software Developer III
Location: Onsite - Downtown Houston, TX
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
We are seeking a skilled System Specialist / Software Developer III to support critical enterprise software development projects. This role will contribute to designing, developing, and enhancing applications used across liquid transportation business lines such as scheduling, accounting, material reconciliation, and reporting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build new solutions, resolve complex issues, and deliver high-value enhancements.

responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade software and frameworks.
- Estimate development efforts and create technical design documents.
- Develop and test new features, bug fixes, and enhancements.
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure proper test planning and execution.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and provide status updates.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve production issues.
- Work with stakeholders and analysts to gather and refine requirements.
- Support and improve SQL-based applications and business logic.
- Maintain technical documentation and adhere to code quality standards.
qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in application development and IT systems support.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with SQL-based development.
- Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with commercial energy transportation systems (e.g., scheduling, ticketing, invoicing).
- Knowledge of system performance tuning, database design, and referential integrity.
- Understanding of secure, zero-trust environments and public API development.

- CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
