Description

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator II to join our team in Richfield, Ohio. In this role, you will manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases while ensuring their reliability and performance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in database administration, scripting, and troubleshooting within Linux environments.

Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Set up and manage replication mechanisms, including streaming and logical replication, as well as failover strategies.
Design and implement robust backup solutions using tools like pg_dump, pg_basebackup, or pgBackRest, and execute point-in-time recovery when needed.
Enforce role-based access control to secure database environments.
Partition and manage large datasets to enhance database efficiency and scalability.
Utilize PostgreSQL extensions to extend database functionality.
Automate administrative tasks through scripting in Bash, Python, or Perl.
Analyze database logs to identify and resolve errors, slow queries, and deadlocks.
Diagnose and address performance issues such as memory bottlenecks and disk I/O challenges.
Work within Linux environments to manage systems and troubleshoot database-related issues.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in database administration, with a focus on PostgreSQL.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for task automation.
Strong knowledge of replication techniques and failover configurations.
Expertise in backup strategies, recovery processes, and database partitioning.
Familiarity with database extensions and their applications.
Experience with tools like Git for version control and Ansible for configuration management.
Understanding of SOC2 Type II compliance standards and basic security principles.
Solid experience working in Linux-based environments for database and system management.
