Syringa Networks is seeking a talented Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting our network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Functions:

Technical team lead for the resolution of complex network incidents and outages.

Perform in-depth network troubleshooting and analysis.

Collaborate with other technical teams to identify and resolve network integration issues.

Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.

Participate in on-call rotation schedules to provide 24/7 support for critical network infrastructure.

Perform regular network maintenance tasks, such as software upgrades and configuration changes

Mentor and train team members in advanced networking concepts.

Experience in network capacity planning and recommend infrastructure upgrades.

Liaise with vendors and service providers to ensure effective network support.

Lead incident response and coordinate with other entities during major incidents.

Contribute to the development and improvement of NOC processes, procedures, and best practices.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.

5 years of experience in network operations or a similar role preferred.

Solid understanding of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, BGP, OSPF, VoIP, etc.) required.

Experience with network monitoring and management tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark, etc.).

Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex network issues efficiently.

Industry certifications such as CCNP SP, JNCIP, or equivalent are a plus.

Familiarity with ITIL framework and practices.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Strong attention to detail and adherence to standard procedures and protocols.

Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

Preference given to applicants in Boise, ID or those willing to relocate to the Boise area.
