Job Details
Toyota is seeking an experienced CICS/MQ/WAS System Programmer to support and maintain mission-critical middleware environments on IBM z/OS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, tuning, upgrading, and troubleshooting CICS Transaction Server, IBM MQ, and WebSphere Application Server (WAS) in a highly available, secure, enterprise environment. This is a fully remote position requiring strong mainframe expertise and the ability to support production 24x7.

CICS (Customer Information Control System)
- Install, upgrade, and maintain CICS Transaction Server on z/OS.
- Configure CICS regions and manage RDO resource definitions.
- Administer CICSPlex SM, CPSM workload manager, and CICS Explorer.
- Implement threadsafe, RLS, and complex CICSPlex architectures.
- Troubleshoot transaction issues, abends, performance bottlenecks, and region failures.
- Apply PTFs, APARs, and tune CICS environments for optimal performance.
- Install, upgrade, and configure IBM MQ on z/OS.
- Create/manage queue managers, queues, listeners, channels, and clusters.
- Implement MQ security with RACF, SSL/TLS, certificates, and encryption.
- Monitor MQ performance, perform capacity planning, and resolve DLQ and channel failures.
- Support integration across distributed and mainframe MQ environments.
- Install, configure, and upgrade WAS on z/OS or distributed platforms.
- Configure JVMs, data sources, resource adapters, SSL, and performance parameters.
- Apply fix packs, PTFs, and security updates.
- Troubleshoot deployment issues, performance degradation, memory leaks, and SSL problems.
- Support integration with MQ, CICS TG, and enterprise monitoring tools.
- Execute middleware upgrades, migration, and modernization initiatives.
- Implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
- Conduct performance tuning, automation, and capacity planning using Rexx, JCL, USS shell, etc.
- Ensure compliance with corporate security standards, RACF rules, and auditing policies.
- Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure, DBAs, and production support teams.
- Provide 247 on-call support for critical middleware incidents.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- CICS TS / CICSPlex SM
- IBM MQ for z/OS
- IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
- In-depth knowledge of z/OS, JCL, SMP/E, PARMLIB, storage subsystems, and networking.
- Expertise with performance and diagnostic tools (OMEGAMON, RMF, CICS Explorer, MQ Explorer, SysView, dumps/logs).
- Strong understanding of RACF security, encryption, SSL/TLS, and certificate management.
- Proficiency in Rexx, USS Shell scripting; Python is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting, tuning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to support 24x7 production environments remotely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large enterprise or automotive industry environments.
- Familiarity with CICS TG, Liberty on z/OS, or API enablement frameworks.
- Exposure to DevOps concepts for mainframe environments.
