Description
Summary

Advanced C4 Solutions is seeking a Team Lead corrosion control technical expert for the Yokosuka, Japan location. The Team Lead will act as local lead corrosion control technical expert for the Ship Repair Facility (SRF) and Combined Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY), Japan locations and will coordinate training, work/production schedules, ship support data collection and reporting, quality control and assurance, and other management/administrative activities. They will communicate/coordinate with U.S. Navy ships for scheduling and execution of support services.

Team Leads will provide Ship Support Execution services, including corrosion control/preservation work items advanced planning assistance, classroom and on the job corrosion control training, issuance of Government-owned tools, and introduction of new corrosion technology.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Related military (Navy/Coast Guard) experience, completion of trade/industrial school, or trade experience
  • 10 years of experience providing corrosion control support services/maintenance to U.S. Navy ship and submarines
  • Experience mitigating shipboard corrosion control issues, identifying solutions, and understanding technical requirements for shipboard HM&E and C5I systems and equipment
  • Knowledge on the use of surface preparation tools, corrosion control techniques, coating system application tools and types of coating systems used on U.S. Navy ships or in the marine industry.
  • Experience working with/understanding constraints associated with shipboard organizational level corrosion control and preservation maintenance
  • An understanding of new corrosion control technologies and their implementation on Navy or CG boats
  • Supervisory experience managing team subordinates; interfacing with government, shipyard, and contractor corrosion control maintenance activities; and working with US Navy ship leadership, ship personnel, program leadership and team members
  • Team Leads shall possess the necessary skills and military or commercial marine industry experiences that allow them to work independently.


Required Certifications
  • AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (CIP Level 3) Certification


Physical Requirements

  • Naval or Ship setting, must have the ability to crawl, climb, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for longs periods of time, lift and hold up to 50 lbs., talk, hear and sit.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the ship site in all types of weather. Subject to hot, cold, humid and wet conditions depending on location.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other business machines. Use hands to finger, handle, and feel.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk varying distances.
