Position: Life Cycle Engineer

Location: Orlando, FL (100% onsite)

Duration : 6 mo. contract

Rate Range?: $40-47/hr

Position Overview:

The Life Cycle Engineer II will be responsible for performing life cycle analysis within a team to support the sustainment of training aids, devices, simulators, simulations, furnished property, instrumentation, targets, and threat simulations. The goal is to ensure these systems remain fully mission capable for training events and exercises.

Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:
  • Conduct Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) modeling to support life cycle analysis of fielded systems.
  • Perform sustainment activities, including tracking and analyzing parts consumption and maintenance trends.
  • Implement and manage a Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) and obsolescence program.
  • Track modifications and technology refreshes to the system.
  • Execute Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) for the system.
  • Collaborate with a multi-discipline team to ensure the continued functioning of the customer's training system.


Travel: Up to 25% travel to customer locations.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment.
  • Experience performing technical studies and engineering data analysis.


Plusses:
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in life-cycle sustainment, cost optimization, trade studies, and hardware design and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Reliability engineering experience, including design, modeling, prediction, and management in accordance with DoD or equivalent industry standards.
  • Familiarity with reliability engineering handbooks and standards (e.g., MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-STD-690, ANSI-GEIA-STD-0009).
  • Proficiency with ReliaSoft or equivalent reliability modeling tools.
  • Experience with large, complex systems.
  • Experience implementing and tracking DMSMS and obsolescence programs in accordance with DoD SD-22.
  • Experience with FRACAS in accordance with MIL-STD-2155 or equivalent industry standards.
  • Highly skilled in statistical theory and modeling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field. Electrical Engineering knowledge preferred.
