Pay rate: $25/hr
Location: Onsite Allen Texas
Duration: 3 months with possibility of extension  


Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Soldering Technician to join our dynamic electronics manufacturing team. This role offers an opportunity to work with printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and subassemblies, utilizing advanced soldering techniques to ensure high-quality repairs and production standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform precise component-level repairs on PCBAs and subassemblies, including replacing and reworking surface-mount devices (SMD), ball grid arrays (BGA), and micro-components using advanced soldering techniques.
  • Interpret schematics, engineering drawings, inspection reports, and technical documentation to facilitate accurate troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Collaborate proactively with Engineering and Customer Service teams to ensure repairs meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Document all repair actions thoroughly, including recommendations for component replacements or process improvements, ensuring traceability and quality control.
  • Operate within SAP or similar defect tracking systems to log, monitor, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Maintain adherence to electrostatic discharge (ESD) safety procedures and handle components in accordance with industry best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of recent, progressive experience in electronic component-level repair and rework, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proven expertise in digital electronics, including microcontrollers, memory devices, FPGAs, and low-power signal circuitry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with advanced soldering and rework techniques such as SMD, BGA, and micro-soldering, with a strong focus on quality and precision.
  • Familiarity with ESD safety protocols, component handling, and industry standards.
  • IPC Certification (e.g., IPC J-STD-001 or IPC-7711/7721) is required prior to start date.
  • Educational background: High school diploma or GED is required; an associate degree or higher in a related technical field is preferred.
