Job Details

A Major Public Sector Organization in Salem, OR is hiring a Desktop Support Technician to join the team for a great opportunity.
Job Description:
  • Provide technical support via phone, remote tools, and on-site visits to users statewide.
  • Log and escalate support requests using a computerized tracking system.
  • Document solutions and contribute to a shared knowledge base.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues, including physical repairs and remote troubleshooting.
  • Analyze system performance, error codes, and diagnostic messages to identify and resolve conflicts.
  • Perform intermediate-level testing, configuration modifications, and major hardware upgrades (e.g., BIOS/ROM flashing).
  • Regularly assess PC performance and implement corrective measures (e.g., Defrag, ScanDisk).
  • Collaborate with hardware/software vendors to evaluate new products and optimize current systems.
  • Create installation documentation and maintain technical knowledge resources.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting desktops in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with Networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP), Windows operating systems (9x/2000/XP/NT/Vista/7 and Active Directory administration.

This is a Contract position based out of Salem, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
