Description
Our customer is a communications contractor offering a full range of fiber optic and cable network services. Servicing Cox Communications, Comcast Cable, Segra and Suddenlink in the States of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and in Washington D.C., we are a trusted resource for cabling and maintaining high-speed internet connectivity via fiber optic and coaxial systems.
These technicians will be aligned geographically and will be responsible for the hands on cable constructions for FNS in the TN Markets. These crews will be working along side a lead and a fiber splicer out in the field. They will be managed and held to standards by the FNS construction coordinators and the customers FNS supports. The technician will need to have experience pulling, installing, and terminating coax cables. They are expected to have experience using basic hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment (fluke). They will be installing underground and aerial cables and will need to be able to read blueprints and so initiative out in the field.

They should understand basic color codes of coax cables
have experience terminating and putting connectors on the ends
performing basic testing to ensure connective and quality if the installation
knowledge of conduit installation
Job Requirements:
Will require knowledge and proper safe usage of Aerial lift Bucket Trucks as well as the ability to use ladders. The ability to climb/hook is optional.
Will require the ability to safely work within Public Right-of-way, including proper use and knowledge of applicable PPE.
Perfect candidate will have their own hand tools including Coring tools. Tools may be supplied depending on experience level.
Ability to work regularly outdoors in different weather types.
Ability to use a TDR
Ability to effectively communicate with others and work within a team environment
Ability to be at work every day at 7am
Ability to occasionally be On-Call for after-hours emergency work
Ability to use Email and MS Excel for basic project tracking
Possession of a valid Driver's license
Ability to pass a drug screening
Ability to read and understand technical instruction
High School Diploma or G.E.D
3+ years of experience preferred
Nice to have experience but not necessary:
- running, installing, and terminating fiber optic cables
- experience splicing fiber optic cables
- experience with OTDR testers and light meters
- managed crews

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
