Job Title: Solution Architect Investment Systems Modernization
Start Date: On or after July 1, 2025
Duration: Through June 30, 2026

Overview:

A government agency is seeking a Solution Architect to support the modernization of investment management systems and data. This is a senior-level role leading the design, development, and implementation of scalable, secure, and innovative solutions aligned with strategic business goals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of integrated, secure, and scalable IT solutions for investment management modernization efforts.
  • Conduct detailed systems analysis and gather technical/functional requirements aligned with business goals.
  • Evaluate and enhance current system architecture, infrastructure, and workflows to improve scalability, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including enterprise architects, application developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate architectural and project-related risks proactively.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation, including solution designs, data flow diagrams, and deployment plans.
  • Provide hands-on support throughout the project lifecycle including implementation, testing, and knowledge transfer.
  • Ensure architecture adheres to compliance, data governance, and performance standards.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

(Candidate must clearly demonstrate the following in their resume):

  • 15+ years of experience as a Solution Architect, leading integration of complex systems across multiple platforms and aligning with enterprise IT strategies.
  • 15+ years overseeing full project lifecycle solutions, including proposal development, estimation, and planning.
  • 15+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing application interfaces and software services.
  • 15+ years identifying and mitigating technical and scope-related risks on IT projects.
  • 5+ years of experience in investment systems modernization, with expertise in:
    • IBOR
    • OMS
    • Portfolio management
    • COTS investment solutions (e.g., SimCorp Dimensions, Charles River, Blackrock Aladdin, StateStreet Alpha)
  • 5+ years of experience designing and managing cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • 15+ years of demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate in a team environment with architects, analysts, and technical teams.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience supporting large-scale financial systems or pension fund operations.
  • Familiarity with data governance, information security practices, and emerging technologies (AI/ML).
  • Cloud certifications or architectural credentials (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, TOGAF).

 

Additional Details:

  • Equipment: Consultants are expected to use their own equipment unless otherwise approved.
  • Security Requirements: Must complete a security awareness training and sign confidentiality agreements.
