Job Description
Audit Senior

Audit Senior

Are you an energetic, self-motivated professional ready to take on a leadership role? Do you thrive in an innovative and flexible environment where you can bring significant value to clients?

We are looking for an Audit Senior to manage the day-to-day responsibilities of our audit engagements. This includes coordinating planning, fieldwork, and "wrap-up" activities. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements with disclosures, applying GAAP principles, and assessing internal control systems. You will also serve as a primary contact for clients and may be involved in reviews and special engagements.

About Us

Our firm was founded in 1987 with a clear mission: to provide a specialized alternative to large national and regional accounting firms. We focus on serving privately owned businesses, not-for-profits, and government organizations, while also offering alternative services for the SEC market. Our membership in professional alliances and our registration with key oversight bodies ensures we have the platform to deliver these services with excellence.

We offer a comprehensive suite of services, including audit and assurance, tax, managed accounting, IT and security, valuation, litigation support, and HR consulting.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Project Management: Coordinate all stages of the audit-planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up-while managing the project budget and timeline.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply a thorough understanding of GAAP and GAAS to complex client situations.
  • Supervision & Mentorship: Supervise audit staff, review work papers, and provide constructive feedback to help team members grow.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary contact for clients, building strong relationships and providing clear communication.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and/or review financial statements and disclosures in accordance with GAAP.
  • Internal Controls: Document, validate, and assess the effectiveness of internal control systems and recommend improvements.
  • Research: Conduct research on complex accounting issues and document your findings clearly.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of prior work experience, with prior supervisory experience.
  • CPA license preferred or actively studying for the CPA exam.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with various assurance applications and research tools.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong people development and delegation skills.
  • Ability to manage all stages of an audit from start to finish.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This is an office-based role, but you may occasionally work at client sites, including warehouses or factory floors.

  • Travel: Frequent same-day travel to client offices is required, as is occasional overnight travel.
  • Physical Demands: This role involves routine office work, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa. This job was first posted by CyberCoders on 09/09/2025 and applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled or closed.
