IT Specialist

Overview:

We are seeking a IT Specialist to join our IT team and assist in the administration and maintenance of our organization's systems and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • System Monitoring and Maintenance:
    • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability and availability of our systems.
    • Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, software applications, and system utilities.
  • Project Assistance:
    • Assist in the planning, implementation, and documentation of IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
    • Collaborate with senior administrators and other IT staff to ensure project success.
  • User Support:
    • Provide technical support to end-users by troubleshooting hardware and software issues, answering inquiries, and resolving problems in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Set up and configure user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Network Administration:
    • Configuration, installation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues as needed.
  • Server Administration:
    • Admin of servers, including setup, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, applications, and services.
    • Perform routine server tasks such as backups, updates, and security patching.
  • Security Administration:
    • Implement and maintain security measures, such as firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls.
    • Monitor for security breaches and respond to incidents in accordance with established procedures.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
    • Generate reports on system performance, security incidents, and support activities as required.

  • Training and Knowledge Sharing:
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
    • Share knowledge and best practices with team members.
    • Provide training and support to end-users as needed.

  • Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a technical support or system administration role is required.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and network fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and take on new challenges.
