Project Summary:

Our client is planning to consolidate two of its major Salesforce instances into a single unified platform. This consolidation aims to streamline operations, enhance workflow efficiencies, and maintain data integrity while minimizing operational disruptions. The merger involves complex tasks such as merging custom code, managing third-party integrations, and ensuring seamless data migration.

Role Summary:

Technical Lead is central to spearheading the technical complexities of merging multiple Salesforce instances into a single, unified system. This role demands a profound understanding of Salesforce architecture and involves deep engagement with integrations, customizations, configurations, and data migrations. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of Salesforce solutions and best practices to design and implement robust, scalable technical strategies that align with critical business goals and ensure the seamless transition of system data and functions.

Responsibilities:
  • Technical Strategy and Implementation: Lead the planning, design, and execution of technical solutions within the Salesforce consolidation project. Ensure solutions are scalable, robust, and tailored to client needs.
  • Technical Decision Making: Make critical technical decisions, resolving high-impact issues to keep the project aligned with its scope and timeline. Adapt strategies to overcome challenges and ensure project success.
  • Collaboration and Alignment: Act as the key liaison between project managers and technical teams, ensuring that all technical solutions meticulously align with business objectives and project requirements.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Mentor a diverse team of Salesforce professionals, fostering an environment of technical excellence and innovation. Encourage continuous learning and adaptation of new technologies and methodologies.
  • Technology Evaluation: Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance the productivity and quality of the solutions delivered. Ensure the team remains at the forefront of Salesforce technologies.
  • Documentation: Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation, ensuring it is kept up-to-date and accessible for all project stakeholders.
Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional Experience: At least 7+ years of experience in software development, with substantial experience in technical leadership roles, specifically within Salesforce projects. Must have led at least two similar Salesforce consolidation projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven expertise in software architecture, Salesforce platform, and development methodologies. Strong grasp of current industry trends, standards, and technologies.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, managing complex and large-scale technical projects.
  • Analytical and Decision-Making Skills: Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of making quick, effective decisions in complex project environments.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with and influence all levels of the organization.

Recruiter Highlights:

  • Deep experience with merging multiple Salesforce environments is key.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence client team members and stakeholders. This person is the technical POC for the project and will be working closely with the client's architects and technical teams.
  • Technical Lead needs to take ownership of the technical performance of the team. If team members aren't performing technically, this is the person who fixes it.
  • Needs to be prolific at planning and documentation.
  • Both Salesforce instances are highly customized, use many 3rd party applications, have multiple 3rd party integrations. These are complex enterprise systems and successful candidates must be able to demonstrate expert-level knowledge of Salesforce projects with similar levels of complexity.
  • The instances use mostly Salesforce core modules: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud, however Service Cloud is the mostly highly relevant for this project.
  • This consolidation will require complex data migration as the datasets for the two systems must be consolidated into the final system.
